Our services
Our dedicated team of Experts represent inmates across the Country in all issues of Prison Law, including:
Independent Adjudications
Independent adjudications take place when a prisoner is accused of breaching prison rules. The matter is dealt with at a hearing, and if the prisoner is found guilty, they may face charges and disciplinary penalties. These hearings are often overseen by an independent adjudicator, typically a District Judge. Our solicitors can provide expert representation for prisoners involved in independent adjudications.
Parole Review for IPP and Lifers
The Parole Board carries out a risk assessment for individuals serving IPP or life sentences to decide whether it is safe for them to be released into the community. The outcome of this review will determine whether release is granted. It is strongly advised that prisoners facing a Parole Review seek legal representation.
Licence Recalls
Individuals released on licence can be recalled to prison for various reasons, most commonly for breaching their licence conditions. Our team can provide support in challenging recalls and working towards securing a re-release on licence as quickly as possible.
Indeterminate Sentences for Public Protection (IPP)
Individuals released on licence can be recalled to prison for various reasons, most commonly for breaching their licence conditions. Our team can provide support in challenging recalls and working towards securing a re-release on licence as quickly as possible.
Re-Categorisation
Re-categorisation is the process of changing a prisoner’s security category based on their assessed level of risk. Each category carries different rules and levels of freedom. Our solicitors can assist in appealing for a change of category where appropriate.
Sentence Calculations
Understanding a prison sentence is essential, as sentences can often be complex and may involve multiple terms of imprisonment. At Reeds, our team provides guidance and support throughout the sentence calculation process to ensure clarity and accuracy.
